Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

Possible field boundaries of between medieval to 19th century date are visible as earthwork banks on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the southeast of Ruggsmoor. The curvilinear earthworks are broadly northwest to southeast aligned and are situated on steep southwest facing slope. It is largely unclear which of these earthworks, if any, are depicted as field boundaries on the Parish Tithe Map of approximately 1838-48 owing to the spatial inaccuracies of this map. It appears as though some of the boundaries had passed out of use by this time, however. The earthwork banks are not visible on aerial photographs or other digital images made available to the survey.
