Former field boundaries of between medieval to19th century date are visible as earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the southwest of Abbey View Farm. The linear earthworks are northwest to southeast and northeast to southwest aligned. Two of the earthworks to the north and southeast are defined as field boundaries on the Parish Tithe map of approximately 1838-48, whilst the remaining two boundaries appear to have passed out of use by this time. The Historic Landscape Characterisation project classifies this area as comprising ‘Medieval enclosures’ and ‘Post-medieval enclosures’. The earthworks are visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016.
