An irregular earthwork pit, up to circa 34 by 18 metres in extent, is visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. The area is depicted as scrub and trees on the available historic mapping, and it is interpreted as the remains of an extractive pit of post-medieval date that became disused before the mid-19th century. It may be associated with the ‘Old Gravel Pit’ depicted on late-19th century mapping circa 135 metres to the north.
