A curvilinear earthwork ditch, just over 2 metres in width, is visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and on aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards. It seems originate immediately to the south of Lewsley Farm, and runs broadly along the contour, dropping just over 10 metres over a 215 metre length. It resembles a trackways but its location makes an interpretation as the field gutter of a simple post-medieval or 19th century catchmeadow more likely. It may have functioned as an ‘integrated ‘system that distributed manure along with water across the hillside. It is possible that this feature is the same as the watermeadow recorded as MDV43728.
