An extraction pit and ditch of between post-medieval to 19th century date are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the south of Little Musgrove Farm. The sub-circular shaped earthwork pit measures approximately 27m in length by 25m in width and is bisected by a north to south aligned curvilinear ditch approximately 74m in length. The function of the ditch and its relationship with the pit is largely unclear, although may have been a former field boundary or drainage ditch. The earthworks remain visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016.
