Royal Air Force, 1959, RAF/58/2984, NMR RAF/58/2984 F22 0059 30-JUN-1959 (Aerial Photograph). SDV349064.

The barrow shows clearly as a dark ring ditch cropmark.

Visited 5th April 1969. Diameter 32 paces, height 3.5 feet. Suggestion of a ditch.

Visited 16th October 1977. Barrow A. A bowl barrow now with no evidence of a ditch, 32.0 metres diameter, 1.2 metres high.

Devon Committee for Rescue Archaeology, 1979 - 1981, North Devon Barrow Survey, DCRA ND 45 (Archive - Survey). SDV341310.

Site visit 8th November 1979. Diameter circa 40.0 metres, with ditch. Height 1.35 metres. Flattened and spread, but still very substantial. Slightly flat-topped with clear indications of a ditch on the north and east sides, circa 5.0 metres wide and 0.2-0.3 metres deep. Mound circa 30.0 metres diameter. In pasture. Good condition.

Visited 5th September 1996. This barrow has occasionally been re-seeded. Dimensions as above. The ditch is also faintly visible on the south side. Forms part of an aligned group.

Department for Culture, Media and Sport, 1999, Two Bowl Barrows 400m north west of Gorvin (Schedule Document). SDV340123.

[One of] two bowl barrows situated on a prominent upland ridge overlooking the valley of Seckington Water. These form part of a group of barrows recorded in the area. The southernmost barrow survives as a slightly oval mound which measures 35.7 metres east-west, 30.1 metres north-south and 1.4 metres high. The surrounding ditch is visible, measuring up to 5.1 metres wide and 0.1 metres deep.

The barrow is visible as an earthwork mound, approximately 27 metres in diameter, surrounded by an earthwork ditch, approximately 5 metres wide, on images derived from lidar data captured in 2013. The mound had already been transcribed for the Tamar NMP survey, but the ditch has now also been transcribed.
