The pit is roughly circular in shape and measures approximately 25 metres in diameter. No quarry or extractive pit is depicted in this location on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map or Tithe Map for Luppit. This supports the interpretation that the extractive pit had passed out of use prior to the early 19th century.
