Field called Round Close on Tithe Map/Tithe Apportionment (Tithe Apportionment No. 1576). 'Round' names sometimes refer to circular/sub-circular fields which can reflect underlying enclosures of prehistoric date. Only the western and southern boundaries of the current field (same on OS 1891 map) could be described as sub-rounded.
