Field called Great Gully Down on Tithe Map/Tithe Apportionment (Tithe Apportionment No. 4) with Little Gully Down to south (Tithe Apportionment No. 6; SY 1623 9626). Nature of gully not known. Could possibly derive from 'goyle' meaning deep stream valley. Other 'Gully' field names to south.
