Full description

Exeter Archaeology, 2003-2004, East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Archaeological Survey, Site No. 673 (Archive - Survey). SDV351568.

Devenish Pit Farm is fist documented in 1381 deriving probably from family of Simon 'Devenyshe'. On 1891 Ordnance Survey map farm shown as buildings around a courtyard to east of road, with 2 other buildings to west of road. New layout on modern map.
Gover et al 1932, 626; OS 1891 1:10560 map (Sheet 70SE).
