An irregular earthwork pit, 25 by 60 metres in plan, is visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. Two small plots of land in which it is located are depicted as orchard on the Tithe map, and orchard trees are still depicted in the easternmost on the early-20th century OS map. A rectangular structure is depicted in the western plot on the historic mapping, but not the modern maps. This suggests that the structure and orchard were established within the pit, and that extraction had ceased by the mid-19th century. In common with many similar pits in the East Devon area, the area seems to have subsequently been reused for fruit tree cultivation.
