Earthwork banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the east of Wellsprings Farm. The earthworks, which are fairly poorly defined and fragmented, are broadly eastsoutheast to westnorthwest aligned and occupy two adjacent land parcels depicted on historic mapping, on west facing slope. These earthworks may represent the remains of agricultural improvement or represent the site of a former orchard, the banks providing improved drainage and increased soil depth for the fruit trees. The earthwork banks remain visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016.
