A former field boundary of between medieval to post-medieval date is visible as an earthwork bank on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the east of Wellsprings Farm. The linear field boundary is northwest to southeast aligned. The northern segment of the earthwork bank is depicted as a field boundary on the parish Tithe map of 1838-48, although the small section of field boundary to the southeast appears to have passed out of use by this time. The main part of the field boundary remains extant on aerial photographs of 1947, although by 1982 has been completely cleared. The Historic Landscape Characterisation project has classified this area as comprising ‘Medieval enclosures based on strip fields’.
