Possible earthwork cuttings of between medieval to 19th century date are visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the northeast of Hanson’s Farm. The sinuous and crescent shaped earthworks form a northeast to southwest alignment, are visible to a length of approximately 175m and appear to have been cut into the side of moderate northwest facing slope. Only the working face of these possible cuttings has been transcribed. The workings, however, likely encompassed a larger area on the northwest side of the working face which, although not clearly visible, has been included within the general monument polygon for this record. Some caution should, however, be excercised, and it is possible these earthworks are the result of natural slumping. The earthworks are not visible on aerial photographs or other digital images made available to the survey owing to tree cover here.
