The possible former extraction pit is visible as an earthwork pit.

An earthwork pit of a possible post-medieval to 19th century extraction pit is visible on aerial photographs of 1982 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the southwest of Devonshire Inn. The possible extraction pit is sub-oval in shape and measures approximately 33m in length by 18m in width. The southern edge of this pit is partly obscured where it intersects with a linear northeast to southwest aligned field boundary ditch (MDV116401), with the pit possibly post-dating the field boundary ditch.
