Several linear earthwork banks and ditches, up to 2 metres in width, are visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and on aerial photographs taken from 1947. One ditch is parallel to and circa 40 metres north-west of a straight boundary depicted on the historic mapping which forms the eastern ditched boundary of a rectangular plot of conifers. It is aligned cross-contour and may have served to drain the ground, but perhaps also functioned as a field boundary for a similarly sized plot of land. Perpendicular to these are several earthwork ditches that seem to have further subdivided the plots, one of which seems to have a narrow ditch on its downslope side. They are interpreted as the remains of post-medieval field boundaries which, as they are not depicted on the historic mapping, went out of use by the mid-19th century.
