Four irregular earthwork pits, between 25 and 52 metres across, are visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. They do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic mapping, and are interpreted as the remains of extractive pits that went out of use by the mid-19th century. It is not clear what materials were being extracted, and the earthworks may be slight.
