A possible former field boundary of between medieval to post-medieval date is visible as an earthwork ditch on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the south of Higher Collyforches Farm. The linear northwest to southeast aligned earthwork generally respects the historic field patterns depicted here on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map of between the 1880’s-90’s, although appears to have passed out of use by this time. The Parish Tithe map is incomplete here so it is not possible to determine whether the field boundary was in existence by this time. The earthwork bank is not visible on aerial photographs or other digital images made available to the survey. Other earthworks visible in the vicinity here were interpreted as being of modern date and so were not transcribed during this survey.
