Two groups of roughly circular earthwork pits measuring circa 5 to 7.5 metres in diameter, are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1947, and more clearly on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. Each group comprises four pits 7 to 25 metres apart, and they strongly resemble Second World War bomb craters. It is unusual for this type of feature to survive so well, suggesting non-intensive land use in this area.
