Parallel linear banks, circa 3.5 metres in width, are indistinctly visible as earthworks on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and aerial photographs taken from 1969. They are aligned cross-contour, typical of the tree planting banks that were common in orchards of post-medieval or 19th century date to aid drainage. Orchards are depicted in this location on the historic mapping, and only went out of use in the second part of the 20th century.
