A narrow curvilinear earthwork ditch is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1947 to the south of Naish’s Farm. It is approximately 1 metre in width, and seem to originate from the farmstead, then turning south-east and aligned broadly along the contour. This layout is typical of the gutter of a catchmeadow system of post-medieval or 19th century date, falling less than 5 metres across a 90 metre length. If it does originate from the farm, it may have functioned as an ‘integrated’ system which distributed manure as well as water across the hillslopes. A less distinct dark cropmark to the south could be associated but its alignment is less convincing as a water channel.
