A possible former field boundary of between medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork bank on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the west of Mount Pleasant Cottage. The linear northwest to southeast aligned earthwork generally respects the historic field patterns depicted here on the Parish Tithe map of approximately 1838-48, although appears to have passed out of use by this time. The Historic Landscape Characterisation project classifies this area as comprising ‘Medieval enclosures based on strip fields’, so may be of potential medieval date. The earthwork bank is not visible on aerial photographs or other digital images made available to the survey owing to tree cover here.
