An extraction pit of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, within Harvestwood. The sub-rectilinear shaped earthwork measures approximately 35m in length by 22m in width and is located along the western edge of Harvestwood. Clay pits are depicted in close proximity here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s, which gives a good indication as to the likely use of this earthwork. The earthwork is not clearly visible on aerial photographs or other digital images made available to the survey owing to tree cover.
