A possible former field boundary of between medieval to post-medieval date is visible as an earthwork bank on aerial photographs of 1947 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the southeast of Burnt House Farm. The linear northeast to southwest aligned boundary respects the historic field patterns depicted here on the Parish Tithe map of approximately 1838-48, although appears to have passed out of use by this time. The Historic Landscape Characterisation project has classified this area as comprising ‘Medieval enclosures based on strip fields’.
