A linear earthwork ditch, between 3 and 10 metres in width, is visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and less distinctly on aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards. It does not fit into the field system particularly convincingly, and no features are shown in this location on the 19th century mapping. It is wider at the top of the slope than at the base, possibly suggesting a natural origin, perhaps a springline. However it is on a similar alignment to a segment of road south-east of Nower Barton, and it is possible that this is the route of a former trackway linking this farm to Chantrywood Farm to the east. If so, then this trackway probably went out of use by the mid-19th century.
