Parallel linear banks, circa 3.5 metres in width, are visible as earthworks on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and aerial photographs taken from 1947. They are aligned broadly cross-contour, typical of the tree planting banks that were common in orchards of post-medieval or 19th century date to aid drainage. Orchards are depicted in this location on the Tithe map but not the late-19th century OS mapping, suggesting that landuse changed in the second part of the 19th century.
