Possible tree-planting banks of a former post-medieval to 19th century orchard are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the east of Barn Park Farm. An orchard is depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. The earthworks banks, on which the fruit trees were established, are northeast to southwest aligned and occupy an area of approximately 0.33 hectares of moderate to steep east facing slope, within a single rectilinear shaped plot depicted on the First Edition OS map. The orchard banks were not clearly visible on aerial photographs or other digital images made available to the survey.
