A possible extraction pit of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the southwest of Brimpit Farm. The oval shaped earthwork measures approximately 33m in length by 22m in width. It is defined as a dotted line on the Parish Tithe Map of approximately 1838-48, so clearly pre-dates this map.
