A possible extraction pit of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1982 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the east of Hay Close Bungalow. The irregular shaped earthwork measures approximately 80m in length by 47m in width and appears to have been cut into the side of a natural scarp here. The earthworks were fairly poorly defined and so were difficult to accurately transcribe. The extraction pit is partly overlain by earthwork banks of possible cultivation marks or an orchard (MDV116542).
