An extraction pit of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the north of Corrymoor Farm. The earthwork is semi-circular in shape and measures approximately 36m in length by 29m in width and abuts, and so likely post-dates, an historic field boundary along its eastern edge. A copse is depicted here on the Parish Tithe map of approximately 1838-48, which was likely established here following the abandonment of the extraction pit. The earthwork is located in an area where numerous similar such features have been recorded during this survey.
