Possible extraction pits of likely post-medieval to 19th century date are visible as earthwork pits on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the north of Minsons Hill Farm. The larger of the two earthworks is irregular in shape and measures approximately 61m in length by 47m in width. The site of the earthwork is depicted as a copse on the Parish Tithe map of approximately 1838-48, the trees likely being established here following the abandonment of the extraction pit. A small semi-circular shaped earthwork, which measures approximately 35m in length by 14m in width, is visible to the immediate south of this earthwork. A number of similar such features have been recorded within the vicinity here during this survey. The earthworks are not clearly visible on aerial photographs or other digital images made available to the survey.
