A roughly oval earthwork pit, circa 11 metres in width, is visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. It is tentatively interpreted as the remains of an extractive pit. It appears to have been disused by the late-19th century when the area was depicted as broadleaf woodland on the first edition OS mapping. Woodland is still extant here and the tree canopy obscures the ground surface on the available aerial photographs.
