A roughly oval earthwork pit, circa 31 by 18 metres, is visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. It is tentatively interpreted as the remains of an extractive pit. It is not depicted on the historic mapping, which records this area as scrubby rough ground on the 19th century maps. This suggests it may have already been abandoned at this stage. The area became woodland during the 20th century, and woodland is still extant here with the tree canopy obscures the ground surface on the available aerial photographs.
