Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

A pale linear cropmark were visible on aerial photographs of 1947 on the gentle south—east facing slopes near the head of a combe to the west of Jack’s House, Clayhidon parish.
The cropmark falls within the surrounding extant field pattern. It does not match any boundary shown on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25inch map but corresponds with a former field boundary shown on the Tithe Map for Hemyock. As such, it is interpreted as evidence of a former field boundary of post-medieval date that was removed between the 1840s and 1890s.
