A linear earthwork bank was visible.

A former field boundary of probable post medieval date was visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s onwards as an earthwork bank on the west-facing slopes of Hartridge overlooking Sharcombe Farm, Luppitt. The visible earthwork did not correspond with any boundary depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25inch map or Tithe Map for Luppitt but its regular form might support a post-medieval or later date. This might support the interpretation that the earthwork had either passed out of use prior to the mid-19th century or had been constructed post-1890.
