An extraction pit is partly visible as an earthwork pit.

Possible extraction pits of between post-medieval to 19th century date are partly visible as earthwork pits on aerial photographs of 1947 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the east of Twistgates Farm. The two earthworks are sub-oval in shape and measure approximately 19m in length by 14m in width (western pit) and approximately 27m in length by 15m in width (eastern pit) and abut, and so likely post-date, an historic field boundary along their northeast edge.
