Former field boundaries of possible medieval to post-medieval date are visible as a series of earthwork banks on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the east of Shutlands Farm. The three linear earthwork banks are east to west aligned, with a possible fourth north to south aligned bank also visible. The field boundaries are not depicted on the Parish Tithe map, which appears to be un-surveyed here, but appear to have passed out of use by the time of the Ordnance Survey First Edition map of the 1880’s-90’s. Other earthwork banks of former field boundaries are also visible on lidar images here, although where not transcribed given that they are shown on historic mapping.
