Possible extraction pits of likely post-medieval to 19th century date are visible as earthwork pits on aerial photographs of 1947 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, at Mount Pleasant. The two adjacent earthworks are located either side of an historic field boundary, with the larger of the two to the north located within an area of woodland of Underdown Moor. A number of similar such features were recorded in the vicinity here during this project.
