Two irregular earthwork pits, the largest circa 30 metres across, are visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. No pits are depicted on the 19th century mapping in this exact location, when the area is depicted as woodland within Woodhays Coppice. It is interpreted as the remains of an extractive pit that went out of use by the mid-19th century.
