Parallel linear earthworks, circa 3.5 metres apart, are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1947 and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. Their cross-contour orientation is indicative of tree planting banks of post-medieval or 19th century date, but no trees are depicted in this location on the historic maps, suggesting that use as an orchard predated the mid to late-19th century.
