Earthwork banks of possible former medieval to 19th century field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs of 1982 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the northeast of Brimley Linhay. The possible field boundaries comprise a single curvilinear northeast to southwest aligned bank, with a linear east to west aligned bank which is bisected by a later ditch on the western side of this. The possible field boundaries appear to have passed out of use by the time of the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. The digital Parish Tithe map is incomplete here, so it is not possible to determine whether these field boundaries were extant at this time. The Historic Landscape Characterisation project has classified this area as comprising ‘medieval enclosures based on strip fields’.
