Parallel linear earthwork banks, circa 4 metres in width, are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1947 and very indistinctly on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. The area is depicted as a plot of orchard on the historic mapping and the cross-contour orientation is indicative of tree planting banks of post-medieval or 19th century date. This plot is not depicted with fruit trees on the early-20th century maps, suggesting that use as an orchard ceased around the turn of the 20th century.
