An earthwork pit of a possible former post-medieval to 19th century extraction pit is visible on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the west of Ley Farm. The sub-oval shaped earthwork measures approximately 58m in length by 44m in width is located in an area where a number of similar such features have been recorded during this survey. The extent of the earthwork is depicted as a copse on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map, the trees likely being established within the pit following its abandonment.
