Parallel linear earthwork banks, circa 3 metres in width, are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1948 and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. The area is not depicted as orchard on the late-19th century mapping but the broadly cross-contour orientation is indicative of tree planting banks of post-medieval or 19th century date. Use as an orchard may have predated the late 19th century.
