Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
Row of dwellings adjacent to the inn building depicted on the Tithe Map. 1523 on the North Bovey apportionment. A further range of buildings (not dwellings shown to the north-west of the main range.

The late 19th century historic map shows 'New Inn' and at least three cottages on this site. The other buildings shown on the Tithe Map are no longer depicted.

In North Bovey, W H Smith’s son Frederick (who inherited his father’s the estate in 1891 and the title Viscount Hambleden in 1913), built a terrace of six houses on the northwest side of the green, replacing a row of cottages and an Inn.
