A possible extraction pit of post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1948 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998-2014, to the northeast of Palmers. The sub-oval shaped earthwork measures approximately 40m in length by 33m in width and is situated on gentle northeast facing slope.
