A possible extraction pit of post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1948 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998-2014, to the southwest of Deadbeer Farm. The irregular shaped earthwork measures approximately 81m in length by 32m in width and is located within a copse depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map, the trees likely being established within the pit following its abandonment. A number of similar such features have been recorded in the vicinity here during this survey.
