An extraction pit of possible post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1971 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998-2014, to the northwest of Clayhidon Mill Bridge. The oval shaped earthwork measures approximately 28m in length by 24m in width and is located within an area where a number of similar such features have been recorded during this survey.
