Summary

Marked on the late 19th century historic maps. When the Church of St Michael closed in 1994, a Methodist /Anglican Ecumenical Partnership was created and the white building to the rear of the chapel is The United Church of Princetown. This building was originally a Family Centre and an overnight hostel for Dartmoor prisoners' relations who had travelled a long distance to visit inmates.

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

The site of the later chapel appears to be marked as 'Market' on the Tithe Map.

Princetown: Former Methodist Chapel and current Church
Image of the former Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, taken in 2008. Beyond the chapel, the white building is The United Church of Princetown - a Methodist/Anglican Ecumenical Partnership created when the Church of St Michael and All Angels was closed in 1994.
