Sir Alexander. This British barque was lost in 1860. It had been en-route from Shields to Lisbon carrying a cargo of coal and unspecified material. It stranded, and in spite of jetissoning 50 tons of cargo, the vessel became a total wreck. The wreck and part of its cargo and materials were offered for sale on 28/03/1860 (Larn & Larn 1997).
